Non-Binary Beauty - Dylan Thomas Photography
With his flash photography and beautiful portrayal of the LGBTQIA community, South Florida fashion and lifestyle photographer Dylan Thomas is in a league of his own.
With his camera, whether it be digital or 35mm film, Dylan is able to capture fashion and sexuality in a way that I have rarely seen before. It is clear that in every frame of his work, Dylan has built a relationship with his subjects - enough to where they are comfortable in their attire and in their own skin. There is a grittiness to all of Dylan’s pictures that gives off a feeling that some of the pictures could pass as candid, but it is clear that (most of) the pictures are staged and prepared. The same way that Dylan’s subjects seem to take risks and experiment with their fashion and style, Dylan also does the same with his style of photography.
Dylan also has prints and zines up for purchase to show how capable he is to tell a story with his photography. “Angst: Gender Terrorism By Dylan Thomas x Julian Montalvo” is a collection of 35mm photographs that Dylan took of the queer night light in New York and Miami. These photographs and Zine, as well as the sequel - “Angst: Gender Terrorism II,” display Dylan’s skill with flash film photography as well as queer people challenging gender norms, masculinity, and femininity.
Dylan’s knack for fantastic photography and undeniable talent has also allowed him to be published on Toksik Magazine, Teeth Magazine, and even Vogue Italia. There’s no question that Dylan Thomas is a tremendous talent and has a long career ahead of him.
